What. In. The. Real. Hell.
the Miami Marlins CROSSED THE LINE in a stupid Twitter spit with the Tampa Bay Rays … saying, "You are literally the animal that killed Steven Irwin."
Guy. Really?!!?!?
So why on earth would a major league baseball team have invoked the name of a world treasure that was tragically killed by a real stingray in 2006 ???
Here is the backstory …
The Marlins played the Rays on Saturday and, despite Miami's defeat, they posted a strong time with the good player in the field Brian Anderson GUNNING a guy at the plate in the 8th inning.
The Tampa Bay Rays social media team responded to the tweet by saying, "Show the final exit." Quality burn.
Miami responded by attempting a chance at Tampa Bay to form a team from two Rays cities, dividing the time between TB and Montreal.
Tampa Bay responded by pointing to the bulletin board … prompting Miami to send the wildest tweet in MLB's history.
"You are literally the animal that killed STEVE IRWIN LOG OFF."
Tampa Bay – who has won both games in his 2-game series with Miami – replied: "You are literally the team that has just been swept away, disconnect."
Of course, Irwin – aka "The Crocodile Hunter" – was killed at age 44 when he was killed. pierced in the heart by a stingray beard while shooting an underwater documentary.
He left a wife and two children.
You stay classy, Miami.
