The son of singer Michael Buble, Noah, was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2016, but now is fine.
The experience of his 5 year old son with the disease was traumatic for the Buble family and remains very painful for the singer.
In a recent interview with the Times, the Grammy Award-winning artist explained how his vision of life and the entertainment industry had changed after learning of his son's diagnosis.
"All I thought was a big problem, like my insecurities, what people think of me, how much will it sell, what will the critics say – they went there in a moment. I thought, "Why did not I see that I had everything I needed here, that everything else was fluffy? ", he told the publication.
"Nothing else matters," he says.
Noah's experience also led him to look at himself and see how he led his life.
"All the while, I prayed and meditated and I promised myself that from now on, I would be right," he told The Times. "I would be real with myself and with my friends and family, and at the end of the day I could live with those decisions."
He wants it to be Noah's choice if he will talk about his fight against cancer.
"One day, I hope I can leave everything behind and never have to talk about it again," he told the publication. "It's always very painful, obviously, I do not go into detail because it's not my story, it's my child's story, and if he wants to tell it, he'll do it, but simple terms. "
In the morning show of Australia's "The Today Show," Buble described the impact of Noah's fight against the disease.
"What we have experienced is the worst thing we can hear as a parent and perhaps as a human being," he said. "I would prefer it to be me, I would have liked … many times, I would have liked it to be the case."
With the return of his son's health, Buble is back to work. He returns to his roots and adopts his characteristic vocal style in his new album "Love", which will be released on Friday.
