Michael Douglas brings his Cameron to Ant-Man Premiere

It was a family affair at the premiere of Ant-Man and the wasp.

72-year-old Michael Douglas has brought his eldest son Cameron, 39, to the premiere of his latest movie in Los Angeles on Monday. The father and son duo hit the carpet in style, Michael opting for a black set while Cameron wore a white blazer with a light blue button-down shirt underneath.

Both were all smiles as posed for the photo, and even matched with their unbuttoned shirts.

Happy times come after trouble in Cameron's life. In 2010, he was sentenced to 5 years in prison for possession of heroin and sale of methamphetamine. His sentence was extended after he confessed to smuggling drugs into prison, before being released in August 2016 after a stay of nearly seven years.

Despite the troubled times that caused the distance between Michael and Cameron prior to his incarceration, the young Douglas told PEOPLE in 2017 that his family was "closer than ever".

"In difficult times, we tend to get closer.It's a nice kind of trait we have," said Cameron, adding, "My dad and I have an amazing relationship." I like to spend time with him, and I will spend as much time with him as possible.

Since his release, Cameron and his girlfriend Viviane Thibes have welcomed their first child together in December, Michael revealing exclusively the name of the couple's daughter to PEOPLE in a statement: "[We’re] all ecstatic about baby Lua! "

The name of Cameron's daughter is a tribute to her great-grandfather, Kirk Douglas, who was born Issur Danielovich, and later passed by Izzy. And Michael said that his two other children with his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones – Dylan, 17, and Carys, 15 – are already natural in their new roles.

"Dylan and Carys like to be an aunt and uncle and we are so happy to be Bubba and Zeze," said Michael at PEOPLE, speaking of the names the baby will know him and his wife.

Ant-Man and the wasp arrives in theaters on July 6th.
