"America has talent" Finalist Michael Ketterer, fan favorite and judge Simon Cowell in season 13 that has just ended, was arrested on Thursday accused of domestic violence.

Drake Madison, head of the Los Angeles Police Department, said TODAY that Ketterer had been arrested late Thursday afternoon in Hollywood. The night before, Ketterer sang a song written for him by Garth Brooks during the last episode of the season.

Ketterer, who is ranked in the top five and fifth in the NBC Talent Series, has received many accolades for her work and family life. The singer is a pediatric nurse and father of six children (including five adopted foster families). He was Cowell's gold drinker.

"I was shooting for him, I'm not going to lie," Cowell said after Ketterer's performance on Wednesday in "The Courage to Love", with Brooks' encouragement by video. The magician Shin Lim finally won the season 13 crown.

"When he sang Garth Brooks' song, it was one of those magical moments when the song was connected, he was connecting, his voice was better, it could be felt in the crowd," said Cowell, also executive producer of "AGT". and responsible for music. Cowell, speaking on the red carpet post-show, said he planned to work with Ketterer in his musical career.

TMZ first reported the news.

NBC refused to comment on Ketterer's arrest. A Cowell representative did not respond to USA TODAY's request for comment.
