ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Wisconsin needed a solid full match to lighten the load on its stronger defense at Saturday's Michigan Stadium.

The Badgers' pass attack dropped the ball.

Michigan eventually defeated the No. 10 ranked Badgers and the # 13 Wolverines slid to a 38-13 win in front of 111,360 on Saturday.

The Badgers' defense was undermined from the start. The defensive Isaiahh Loudermilk was declared absent Thursday because of an ankle injury and the starting safety of D & C Dixon did not play after undergoing warm-ups before the game to test her leg injured.

Dixon was not featured in the injury report this week after being injured while he was defending a late pass game in the fourth quarter against Nebraska. He said Monday that he was confident of being able to play.

UW already knew that he had to play in the first half without the other starter, Scott Nelson, after being sent off for targeting the Cornhuskers.

To add more problems to the secondary player, cornerback Faion Hicks also did not start after being absent from the injury report during the week. Hicks, who had been thumb injured in recent weeks, was reported injured in the leg after the match started.

That left UW with two rookies, safety Reggie Pearson and cornerback Rachad Wildgoose at Dixon and Nelson.
