The bad mood between Michigan and Michigan State came early Saturday and passed the final whistle. Michigan's 21-7 win produced many new clips for mounting the bad will that came to define this rivalry within the state.
Both teams started with fireworks well before the kickoff. The state of Michigan, during its classic warm-up, has crossed Michigan linebacker, Devin Bush, present on the ground. Bush did not like that and avoided his frustration over the Spartans midfielder logo.
After the match, Michigan coach John Harbaugh said what happened before the match was a "bush league", claiming that the Spartans had "dubbed" two Michigan players and dropped Wolverines Lavert Hill's half-helmet.
Harbaugh also said that Michigan State Coach Mark Dantonio had witnessed all of this and that he was standing behind the action smiling.
When he was told about Harbaugh's comments, Dantonio called him "B.S.".
"Bush league," he repeated later, nodding his head
Bush then played a key role in Michigan's stop defense, amassing four tackles and a sack. The Wolverines quickly took the lead and took a win on the road, avenging the 14-14 defeat of last year against the Spartans.
In an after-game interview, defensive wing Chase Winovich seemed quite fine, both with his team's performance and Bush's decision to tear the logo.
"We came here, we reduced their pitch before the game and have always come here and had after them all the game," said Winovich.
He then added, "Sometimes your little brother starts taking action and you have to put them in place."
A few hours after the end of the match, the fanfaron continued on social networks. A revenge can not come soon enough.
