The Miles is back in college football after formally accepting a contract that will make him head coach at the University of Kansas, Miles told Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports on Sunday.

Brett McMurphy stadium said Miles would receive a five-year contract. Ross Dellenger of Sports Illustrated Miles will earn $ 2.75 million per season, which is "about" $ 2 million less than his salary at LSU.

Kansas Sports Director Jeff Long has issued a statement on Miles' commitment to his Twitter account.

It was becoming increasingly clear that Miles would join the Jayhawks. Dellenger reported on November 16 that both parties were working to finalize an agreement for the 65-year-old player.

Miles previously achieved an agreement on the repurchase of his LSU contract for $ 1.5 million allowing him to resume training. He was fired by the Tigers in September 2016 after a 2-2 season start.

During Miles' two-year sabbatical, Miles began working on a new career path in film.

"I have several projects I'm looking at," Miles told Dellenger in March. "I read for those."

Dellenger shared an image of Miles disguised as a cop in a film shot in 2016:

Kansas had to make a splash with his next coach. The football program has been a disaster for years, but the situation is particularly bleak recently. David Beaty, who will finish this season after school ad on November 4, he would not return in 2019, he went 6-41 in four years.

The Jayhawks have not won more than three games in a season since 2009 and their last World Cup appearance was in 2008.

Miles' tenure at LSU from 2005 to 2016 was a success. He went 114-34, won the 2007 BCS National Championship and appeared in a bowl game in each of his 11 complete seasons with the program.
