Tom Cruise found his co-pilot
Sources tell Variety that the star of "Only the Brave" Miles Teller was hired to play Goose's son and Maverick's new protégé in Paramount and Skydance. "Top Gun: Maverick", the sequel of the classic Cruise 1986. In the original image, Goose, played by Anthony Edwards, was the co-pilot of Maverick's Cruise
Last week it was reported that Cruise was tested with Teller, Glen Powell and Nicholas Hoult for the role.
"Oblivion" Director Joe Kosinski directs the film. Jerry Bruckheimer, who produced the first film, will produce with David Ellison, CEO of Cruise and Skydance.
This latest project will take place in a world of drones and fifth generation fighters and will explore the end of the era of dogfighting. Val Kilmer will resume his role of Tom "Iceman" Kazansky in the sequel, which will be released on July 12, 2019.
Teller, who received a BAFTA nomination for "Whiplash" by Damien Chazelle, is also known for his roles in "Project X "," That Awk Moment ", and" War Dogs ".
