Milwaukee Brewers beat Colorado Rockies to take a 2-0 lead at NLDS

Milwaukee brewers have a plan for their playoff success. It may not be the most brilliant way to win a baseball game, or the best way to get upset if you're a fan watching from the stands – but for them it works.

If the Rockies have a plan, well, we have not seen it yet.

The Brewers won another tight game in the second game of the National League Division series, beating the Colorado Rockies 4-0, eliminated in the playoffs for the first time in the club's history. Once again, it was the Brewers who leaned on their powerful pen and took advantage of some successes at the right time – especially a double from RBI with Hernán Pérez and a single with Erik Kratz in eighth place. .

It's the same Brewers formula that worked in the first game (with the exception of some trouble in the ninth inning) and they now have a dominant lead of 2-0 as the series returns to Colorado.

The Brewers turned to veteran Jhoulys Chacin in the second game and got five scoreless innings from him, which is pretty much all they need when they have Josh Hader, Corey Knebel and Jeremy Jeffress in the # 39; s expectation. This three-headed monster, along with Joakim Soria, kept the bats in the Rockies silent for 12 other outs.

Time and time again in the second game, the Brewers managed to get out when they needed it – like their eight-run rally in the eighth inning – and the Rockies were not there.

Game to see

Pérez brought home the first leg of the match with a double in the fourth inning that brought back Mike Moustakas, who produced the winner of the walk-off in the first game. Moustakas had doubled before Perez to set the table.

Perez did in fact have another double later in the game, but was stuck at third. And Moustakas brought home the Brewers' first insurance contract before Kratz's single.

What made the difference in NLDS game 2?

While the Brewers have proven they can bring home a race when the opportunity is offered, the same can not be said of the Rockies. Through two games in this series, the Colorado theme is the missed opportunity.

The number that will stand out for the Rockies in match 2 will be 0-on-6, as in what they did with the riders in the scoring position. Colorado had the opportunity to score, but was unable to collect that perfect shot.

They had two runners in first base, but Trevor Story hit to end the inning. They had two riders in the third goal, but neither Nolan Arenado nor Carlos Gonzalez managed to get a scorer. They squandered a single from Gerardo Parra in the fourth and could not get Ian Desmond home in the seventh when he was in second place without anybody.

Overall, the Rockies have not been able to do their job in this series. They only have one more shot on their base and this happened in the first game. The Rockies hope their attack can turn around at home, where their attack will be better.

What's next for brewers and the Rockies

The Rockies will be riding high as the series moves to Denver on Sunday. The third match of this series starts at 4:37 pm AND will be broadcast on the MLB network. Germany's Márquez will be in the Rockies after her disappointing loss in Game 163 against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Brewers will go with Wade Miley, the veteran who has had a hectic career. He started 16 games with the Brewers, setting a 5-2 record with a 2.57 ERA.

Márquez, 23, has been fantastic this season, aside from Monday's hiccups. He set the record for a Rockies season with 230 strikeouts and finished the regular season with 12 consecutive quality starts. He finished the season 14-11 with a 3.77.
