Craig Counsell, the manager of the Milwaukee Brewers, said Wednesday that the first game of the National League division series would be a memorable day, but he has not yet decided which of his levers would open Thursday against the Rockies of the Colorado.

Counsell said the Brewers were moving away from starters and substitutes and using games to their advantage.

The Oakland Athletics are using this "opening" approach on Wednesday night in their wild card game against the New York Yankees, with Liam Hendriks taking the start.

"There will be no strict rules regarding the use of our launchers," Counsell said.

Right-hander Antonio Senzatela will start for the Rockies in the opening game. Senzatela has been 6- 6- of 13 starts in the regular season, with a 4.38 ERA and 69 strikeouts.

Counsell said right-handed Jhoulys Chacin will start Friday's second game.

Chacin started the decisive game against the Chicago Cubs on Monday. After three days of rest, Chacin should last less than usual.
