Wisconsin police have received more than 800 reports in recent days about the disappearance of Jayme Closs, who disappeared from her home the same day her parents were found dead by gunshot.

The Barron County Sheriff's Department also called 100 volunteers to help them search for clues that could locate Jayme while they announced the hundreds of tips received since Monday. A department spokeswoman declined to say whether they had provided credible information.

The volunteers searched Thursday for a 20-mile radius of sunlight around Jayme's home, but found no evidence.

"The Barron County Sheriff's Office continues to work with its local, regional and federal law enforcement partners in the search for Missing or Endangered Jayme Closs. help the public to continue to provide advice, "said the department in a Facebook message.

Jayme has been missing since Monday morning when police received a frantic 911 call from a cell phone in the home of her parents, the Barron, Wisconsin, who was screaming for help. Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said the call had been routed around 2:00 am and that the caller had not interacted directly with the 911 operator.

He added that MPs had arrived home four minutes after the call and had discovered the bodies of Jayme's parents, Denise Closs, 46, and her husband, James, 56 years old.

Jayme was gone when the deputies arrived, although Fitzgerald thinks she was at home at the time of the murders. He also stated that the weapon used to kill the parents of the teenager was not at the residence.

The last time Jayme was seen, it was Sunday at a family reunion, Fitzgerald said. He repeatedly reiterated that Jayme was not a suspect and thought she was in danger. He told reporters that he "100%" thinks she's still alive.

"Is it a random attack or is it a targeted attack? I do not know that answer – that's why these leads are so important," Fitzgerald said at an earlier press conference this week.

Authorities are asking people to report something unusual to the police. Jayme is described as being 5 feet tall, 100 pounds with green eyes and strawberry blonde hair.
