Missy Elliot's "Work It", which lasted 15 years, was very successful for a woman who loves Rhode Island shofar.

Mary Halsey, self-proclaimed "funky white sister," went on "Ellen" on Thursday to interpret her rendition of "Work It," which won online in August after Elliot tweeted Halsey's hilarious performance.

Towards the end of Halsey's performance, the 47-year-old hip-hop artist surprised her fan by putting herself on stage to sing the rest of her 2002 hit with her.

Halsey seemed stunned when Elliot walked on stage.

Halsey told Ellen DeGeneres that she had been singing "Work It" for 15 years and explained that she had found her now famous nickname to fill the space between the beginning of the music and the moment Missy Elliott starts singing.

"Instead it's just an empty time, I decided to fill it in. And of course, I'm her funky white – Missy's awesome white sister – IN THE HOUSE !!!!!"

Halsey also revealed the identity of the woman who danced and ate in the background of her viral video.

She called Lyn and Halsey had just met her that day.

Unfortunately, Lyn was not at home when Halsey played on "Ellen".
