Google celebrates the 51st anniversary of Fred Rogers recording the very first episode of Mister Rogers Neighborhood with a Doodle inducing nostalgia.

The initial homepage Doodle shows a group of kids gathered around an old school TV for another episode of the PBS series. But if you click on immobilization, you can watch a stop motion video that features an animated Mister Rogers character strolling around the neighborhood while singing his iconic theme song, Will not You Be My Neighbor?

The Doodle ends while the show has always started, with Mister Rogers speaking directly to the kids listening to the episode of the day. "You help make every day a special day by being yourself," he says. "There is no one in the world who looks exactly like you. And people can love you exactly as you are.

Rogers died at his Pittsburgh home in 2003 at the age of 74. All 856 episodes of his beloved show are available for free on the Twitch live broadcast site.
