Mitchell Trubisky had the best day of his history for a quarter Bears

Mitchell Trubisky had a tough second year, but he caught fire on Sunday against the Buccaneers. And he did a lot before half-time. Trubisky had five touchdowns in the first half after just two of the Bears' first three games. He finished the game with six touchdowns in a 48-10 win.

Is it impressive? Trubisky is the first quarterback to make five touchdowns in a half since Aaron Rodgers made it to the Bears in 2014, while the No. 1 Super Bowl draw did not score a single point in a game.

Trubisky dug a low secondary Buccaneers and showed why the Bears traded up to the second overall selection to get it in 2017. He launched deep touchdowns, shorter touchdowns in the red zone and five different hitters of the five affected. Taylor Gabriel caught the sixth touchdown pass, giving him two a day.

Touchdown # 1: 39-yard pass to Trey Burton

Tampa Bay did not decide to play defense in the first touchdown by Trubisky. Trey Burton was found open on the right touchline, where he was able to catch the ball and slide for a touchdown.

Touchdown # 2: Allen Robinson's 14-yard pass

Angled roads in the end zone can be deadly – especially in relation to human coverage. This is a great Trubisky throw to Robinson in the corner of the end zone. It was also Robinson's first touch as a bear!

Touchdown # 3: 9-yard pass to Tarik Cohen

Tarik Cohen was paired with Lavonte David in the men's blanket on that goal and goal. Cohen ran a sloping road where he ran outside before heading back to the end zone. Trubisky stomped on him for six hours.

Touchdown # 4: 20-yard pass to Josh Bellamy

For his fourth touchdown in the first half, Trubisky found Josh Bellamy on a wheel layout. Bellamy snuck past defenseless Bucs defense for an easy touchdown.

Touchdown # 5: A 3-yard pass to Taylor Gabriel

The Bears broke the crush with Trubisky and substitute quarterback Chase Daniel in the backfield. Trubisky returned the ball to Gabriel in motion before simulating the transfer to Daniel (lol). The linebackers from Tampa Bay followed Daniel on the scam as Gabriel ran into the end zone.

After two quarters of the game, the Bears increased their record to 38-3 in a complete loss to the Bucs. Then Trubisky was again magical for his sixth touchdown of the day – a short pass for Taylor Gabriel.

Trubisky did not score his seventh touchdown as the Bears went into cruise control for the second half. The Bears scored 38 of those 48 points in the first period. The rest of the team did the same, and if this is the beginning of an improvement, a regularity, from the quarter of second year, the Bears could be hard to beat.
