The Brewers had to work late, but they eventually survived the Rockies. wins the first game of the LNDS, 3-2. They actually led 2-0 for most of the game – thanks to an excellent shot and the two-run circuit of Christian Yelich – but the Rockies got two points early in the ninth to equalize.
No matter, they would bounce back to win quickly. Take it off, Mike Moustakas.
A funny fact involved here:
Throughout this match, performances of players who were not part of the Brewers last season were presented, which shows that the general manager David Stearns is aggressive both in the last season and the season adding additions to his club to help him stand out.
- Yelich was acquired via the trade the same day Lorenzo Cain was signed. Cain was at the base for the Yelich circuit.
- Moustakas was acquired via the trade in July.
- Joakim Soria also took 10th place to win.
The Brewers are driving right now. Even in the ninth where things were not going as planned, they had a wrong ball less than an inch instead of a double ground (it does not matter) but it's still worth it at least.
They will look to take a threatening lead 2-0 Friday at 3:15 pm Milwaukee (Central) Time.
