With the help of its generous customers, Moana Nursery has presented a check for more than $ 8,500 to the American Cancer Society to support breast cancer research. For the third year in a row, Moana Nursery celebrated Breast Cancer Awareness Month by decorating the three rose stores.

Moana Nursery employees also participated in the Real Men Wear Pink campaign, wearing 'Fier, Pink & Planted' shirts, both in stores and in landscape services. The campaign was led by Scott Gescheider, chairman of Moana Nursery, Matt Pulliam, general manager of retail, and the entire management team. Moana Nursery is known for its over 50 years of community service. Since 2016, Moana Nursery has raised more than $ 26,000 for the Real Men Wear Pink campaign.

"We are excited to be collaborating again with the American Cancer Society to help combat this horrific disease," said Gescheider. "Everyone knows a friend, colleague, or family member affected by cancer. The Real Men Wear Pink campaign gives our Moana team an excellent opportunity to contribute. Their willingness to join this campaign makes it a fun and rewarding experience that we are proud of. We are looking forward to participating again in 2019. "

"Every ounce of energy invested by the Moana Nursery team is so appreciated," said June Hunter, head of health systems at the American Cancer Society. "This check presentation represents an incredible commitment not only to Scott, but to his entire team. They even hosted the Mammovan Nevada Health Center in their Moana Lane store and 10 women received a mammogram. They welcome him again on November 7th at their Pyramid Way location. Increasing early detection in Nevada is essential to saving lives. "

In Nevada alone, an estimated 2,180 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018. Donations like those at Moana Nursery help raise public awareness and help the American Cancer Society facilitate research. Education, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure.
