Liverpool took three points ahead of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League standings with their 4-1 win over Cardiff City at Anfield, but what were the main topics of the match?

Salah shines again
A relatively quiet start to the campaign sparked doubts over Mohamed Salah's ability to repeat last season's exploits, but he still looked dangerous against Cardiff. Second part.
The goal – his fourth in three games – was taken instinctively as a result of a scrum of goals, and the assists were even better. He first passed the ball to Xherdan Shaqiri, who was coming out from outside, with the outside of his boot. Then, he made a superb pass in depth for Sadio Mane to score his second goal.
Salah was at the heart of most of Liverpool's attacks and the statistics underscored his influence. According to Opta, he ranked first for shots (four), chances created (three) and centers (seven).
Salah became the fastest player to reach Liverpool's 50 goals with his second game against Red Star Belgrade on Wednesday. You would not bet against him by sending more discs tumbling as the season progresses.
Encouraging signs of Fabinho
Fabinho has been patient since arriving in Monaco in the summer (£ 43.7m) but after only signing his second Liverpool start in the midweek Red Star victory, he kept his place against Cardiff. Neil Warnock's team has not provided a stern enough test in his first Premier League match, but Liverpool fans will still feel encouraged.
Like Wednesday night, Fabinho started alongside Georginio Wijnaldum in the midfield of the base. He has rarely been out of position, ensuring that Liverpool's back is well protected. From the start, we could see the Brazilian constantly looking over his shoulders to check his position. He also gave instructions and regular instructions to teammates around him.
Fabinho made his Premier League debut
Fabinho has generally kept simplicity with his cast, finding a teammate with 75 of his 85 assists to help Liverpool dominate possession of the ball, but he also tried to get things done when possible. Fabinho appeared from time to time around the Cardiff box. He was involved in the preparation of Mane's first goal and it was he who found Salah to set up the third.
Fabinho did not have much to do in defense – he did not repeat the nine tackles he made against Red Star – but he did show a pace of work impressive. According to the Premier League's tracking data, he ran further (11.2km) than any of his Liverpool teammates.
Jurgen Klopp said it would take him six months to get to work in September, but recent evidence suggests that this might be happening sooner.

The goal of Callum Paterson, breathed into Alisson's legs after Junior Hoilett's pass was deflected, was Liverpool's first conceded in a Premier League game at Anfield since February – preventing a 10th consecutive white match and ending an undefeated 918 minute race.

It was a moment of complacency on the part of the Liverpool defense but that would not worry them unduly. In the 90 minutes, the Reds were totally dominant, limiting Cardiff to two shots on goal. Klopp rested Joe Gomez and Andrew Robertson but Dejan Lovren and Alberto Moreno were elected without problems.
Paterson's goal was scary, but there was never a real danger Liverpool could lose points. They have now taken 26 points in their first 10 Premier League games. It's their best start to the season in the Premier League and it takes them three points ahead of Manchester City, who faces Tottenham Monday night football.
