The shield
The last episode of Monday evening is currently broadcast on the USA network. Here is what happened so far:
8:15 – Ziggler says that Strowman will become WWE Crown Jewel's World Champion, and if Dean Ambrose was with them, the Intercontinental Championship would be his. Reigns tells him to be quiet and they are getting ready to get rid of Corbin before separating them. He says he and his partners will take care of the shield pretty quickly.
8:10 -The Shield comes to a huge ovation. They say they are the working horses of the WWE, and Seth Rollins says they would like to show Baron Corbin what problem they may encounter. Corbin calls them egocentric, but before he can finish, Braun Strowman comes out and starts making fun of the Shield. Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre follow, telling Dean Ambrose that he was being held back by his Shield partners.
8:07 – McMahon questions Corbin's decision to place himself in a universal title game and he defends himself by saying that the shield is out of control. She then tells him to find 2 partners to take the shield tonight.
8:03 – The episode begins with Baron Corbin welcoming Stephanie McMahon in a limousine. Triple H accompanies him, but goes away so that Corbin and McMahon can speak.
Overview
While Braun Strowman has already won a triple match against Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns at WWE Crown Jewel, the Monster Among Men has not reduced his hostility to the Shield. Strowman, Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre have continued to mock the trio of Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, and expect a showdown between the two sides tonight. They will face off with a six-man team match at the WWE Super Show-Down on Saturday, October 6, but tensions for the game will continue to accelerate here.
Another scenario likely to continue tonight is the rivalry between Bobby Lashley and Elias. Last week, Lio Rush revealed that he was Lashley's manager and started beating Elias and Kevin Owens in an impressive showcase. The revelation was exciting, but WWE will have to develop Rush's character and his relationship with Lashley if they want to excite viewers. According to WWE.com, Lashley will face Elias tonight. Expect Owens to make an appearance to a certain extent.
The revival will attack Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre
Last week also marked the return of Nia Jax. The Irresistible Force seemed to help Ember Moon defeat Mickie James and Alicia Fox, and now that she's back, we can only assume that she has kept her grudge against Alexa Bliss. Bliss has a lot to answer after her surprise attack on Money In the Bank, and chances are good that she and Jax have some kind of confrontation in the coming weeks.
Tonight we're seeing Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre coming back in a team game. Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder got their shot at the title a few weeks earlier and are looking forward to winning. It's hard to say if they will get upset and claim the title for themselves, or if Ziggler and McIntyre will continue to prove why they are on top.
Chad Gable is another key wrestler to watch tonight. Gable has been a star in recent weeks as he helped his new partner Bobby Roode to win some victories against Ascension. Admittedly, Gable suffered a ruthless attack from Konnor last week, so expect high tensions in the Tag Team division.
