Mercedes-Benz EQC, the first fully electric production vehicle of the Stuttgart-based automaker made its public debut at the 2018 Paris Motor Show in Paris. As the first production vehicle of Mercedes-Benz's new, 100% electric EQ sub-brand, the new EQC electric crossover / SUV was officially unveiled just a month ago. The new Mercedes-Benz EQC will start in the factory in Bremen, Germany, from 2019, while the EQC batteries will come into service in the enlarged battery factory of Kamenz (near from Dresden). The car is expected to go on sale at the end of next year as a 2020 model.
The new Mercedes-Benz EQC is powered by a dual-engine configuration, which includes a motor for the front axle and one for the rear axle. This makes the EQC a full-wheel drive SUV or, as Mercedes called it, a 4Matic. The EQC engines are powered by a 80 kWh lithium-ion battery, which helps them produce a combined peak power of 300 kW (402 hp) and a peak torque of 765 Nm. The new EQC also offers a total range of about 400 km with a quick charge option on the SUV.

On the visual side, the EQC incorporates the familiar elements of Mercedes-Benz, but with a futuristic style. On the front, the electric SUV comes with a large grille and an AMG-esque double-slat design. The grille itself is surrounded by a black outline that enters the LED headlights. The LED daytime running lights in the lighthouse itself are complemented by an LED lighting strip placed just above the grille. The rear comes with two LED taillights joined together with a lighting strip while in profile.
The interior of the new Mercedes-Benz EQC is also very familiar. The infotainment and the instrument cluster are identical to those of the E-Class, while the center console looks the same. Of course, some changes have been made, including design elements that single the cooling vents of electric motors and new AC aerators.

The Mercedes-Benz EQC is competing with the Jaguar I-Pace and the new Audi E-Tron, two fully electric SUVs. To date, only I-Pace is officially on sale, while E-Tron is expected to be launched by 2018.
