Hillary Clinton defended her husband, Bill Clinton, about his affair with Monica Lewinsky by directly contradicting Lewinsky's description of what happened.
In 1995, while Lewinsky was a 22-year-old White House trainee, she had multiple sexual encounters with the then president, about which he then lied under oath.
After the case became public, Lewinsky was targeted by experts from both sides and said he felt intimidated to the point of feeling suicidal.
In March, a few months after the start of the #MeToo movement, women denouncing allegations of sexual misconduct, mostly against powerful men, Lewinsky wrote that she had been moved to tears and deeply empathic with the accusers .

Lewinsky "was an adult," said Clinton, continuing: "But let me ask you the following question: where is the investigation of the current incumbent about which many allegations have been made?"
