Both organizations plan to look for people who have been in contact with cases to monitor and prevent further transmission.
The first case, a resident of Nigeria, was diagnosed with the disease in Cornwall last week, while the second case, a British resident, was reported to Blackpool.
Both patients are considered unrelated but both have recently visited Nigeria, where they believe they have contracted the virus.
Nigeria declared a monkeypox outbreak in September 2017.
"We will monitor the contacts they have had in Nigeria for two weeks to make sure they have not developed any symptoms or rash.Monkeypox is not as contagious as many people think, but we will follow up to make sure we covered all aspects, "said Chikwe Ihekweazu, director of NCDC.
Ihekweazu said that Nigeria would not issue a travel advisory on monkeypox because there was "a minimal risk of contracting the disease", which he said does not spread easily between humans.
"Anyone traveling around the world is at risk of contracting an infectious disease, but we will give advice on basic precautions, such as avoiding contact with wild animals and, if they must do so, take the precautions to do so. necessary hygiene ".
According to Public Health England, monkeypox is a rare viral infection that usually only leads to mild illness and does not spread easily between people. Symptoms include fever, muscle aches, and rashes. People usually recover within a few weeks, although this can lead to serious illness in some cases.
The NCDC said it would continue to strengthen the "surveillance, detection and response" internal to cases, particularly in the southern states, where the number of cases of monkeypox infection was highest in 2017.
