Do you want to avoid surges? Now you can with Uber – in some cities.

With Ride Pass, Uber customers can pay a monthly fee of $ 14.99 to lock flat rates for all UberX, Uber Pool and Uber Express Pool trips in a given month.

The package is intended to protect passengers against surcharges so that customers can plan trips "without surprises," the company said in a statement. Customers can save up to 15% per trip with the new package, the statement added.

The plan is available in five cities: Austin, Los Angeles, Denver, Orlando and Miami. In Los Angeles, the subscription service costs $ 24.99 a month – but the company said motorcyclists would benefit from "additional benefits on electric bikes and scooters with their Ride Pass" at no additional cost.

This decision follows Uber's continued growth. The company generated $ 2.8 billion in sales in the last quarter, up 63% over the same period last year. As it continues to grow, Uber seeks to invest in transportation – such as bicycles and flying taxis.

Uber is not the only navigation assistance service that enrolls in the train of the subscription. Earlier this month, Lyft, one of Uber's major competitors, also launched a monthly package offering 29 trips to 299 customers.
