Mookie Betts spent her big night in the baseball field directly at street action.
The Boston Red Sox confirmed to Yahoo Sports that Betts was following up on his team's win at Fenway Park by offering a hot meal to homeless people in Boston.
The Red Sox hold a 2-0 World Series lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers ahead of Friday's third game in Los Angeles.
Betts feeds the homeless with food trays
Lou Merloni, a former Red Sox field player and WEEI host, tweeted Thursday night for Betts to distribute hot food to the homeless in the early hours of Thursday morning after the Red Sox win. Temperatures in the northeast were near or below freezing this week.
Merloni said the photo was taken in front of the Boston Public Library at 1 am and included "trays and trays" of food.
Little bird told me an incredible story. It was the scene last night around 1am in front of the Boston Library. Trays and trays of food fed the homeless. The man who delivered the food sought neither attention nor praise, but deserved it. God bless you Mookie Betts pic.twitter.com/4Ox7O0edo4

Mike Winter, one of the VIP animators of the area's clubs, saw two men wearing hoodies "performing a unique show of good faith," according to a WEEI story on Friday morning.
According to Winter, the two men had in their shopping cart about 10 trays of food that they were distributing to a queue of homeless people near the library. The trays contained steaks and chicken, which the homeless people kindly offered to the drunk people who left the bars nearby.
He acknowledged Betts and told WEEI that the other man was Betts's cousin, but he seemed to want to stay at the bottom of the hierarchy. Winter told WEEI:
"You see a lot of celebrities doing tricks for recognition, but the fact was that he was trying to stay totally down. He did not seek to be recognized. Many people are looking for a pat on the back and he was not looking for it at all. He was incognito just trying to do good.
"Nowadays, people do things because they want to be recognized. He did not even want to be recognized. He was not followed by cameras like on Instagram. It's just him being himself. "
Betts is also responsible for distributing free tacos in America as part of Taco Bell's annual "Steal a Base, Steal a Taco" promotion. He stole the second goal after a single in the lead in the first match.
