LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – An infection with hepatitis A has been identified in a food services employee of the restaurant Morimoto Asia located in the Walt Disney World complex in Disney Springs, announced Wednesday evening the Florida Department of Health.
Officials said people who consumed food or beverages at the restaurant between 6 and 16 November may have been exposed to the virus.

The agency said that customers with the following symptoms of infection should immediately see a doctor: sudden abdominal discomfort, dark urine, fever, diarrhea and jaundice, which are yellowing of the skin and eyes.

"The vaccine against hepatitis A or immunoglobulin (IG) may offer protection against the disease if it is administered within two weeks of exposure," said the spokesman. DOH speech, Kent Donahue. "Therefore, those who consumed food or beverages at the restaurant between November 6 and November 16, 2018 should promptly contact their health care provider to get vaccinated."

People who have had hepatitis A or who have already received two doses of the hepatitis A vaccine do not need to be immunized again for the treatment of hepatitis A. hepatitis A, said Donahue.

Officials said the county had recorded an increase in the number of hepatitis A cases since June 2018. They indicated that the current number of cases of hepatitis A infections transmitted locally in the Orange County was nearly 5000% above the previous five-year average of 1.4 cases per year. .
