Moritz Wagner's NBA Summer League debut had its highs and lows.

With 6:24 remaining in the first quarter, the former Michigan basketball star and first-round selection of the Los Angeles Lakers found himself in the paint, looking up as No. 2 overall pick Marvin Bagley III dunked over him.

Welcome to the league, rookie. [19659020] Wagner, though, recovered from being posterized. In the Lakers' 98-93 loss to the Sacramento Kings, Wagner scored a game-high 23 points, tying with teammate Josh Hart and Sacramento's De'Aaron Fox.

Wagner did not shoot particularly well, just going 6-for-18 from the field and 2-for-9 from the 3-point line. But he made 9-for-10 free throws, and contributed to seven rebounds – including four on offense – and two steals.

Despite the early encounter with Bagley and the final score it was a solid debut for Wagner. And it's unlikely that you'll hear him say that LeBron James would be joining him on the Lakers.
