A mother and four children were found dead Monday night in a suicide bombing in a Tennessee home, officials said.
The body of the woman and four children, aged 8 to 16, were found in their home in Columbia by a family member, said Maury County Sheriff Bucky Rowland.
Maury County Attorney Brent Cooper called the killing a suicide.
"It looks horrible," said Rowland, describing the scene. His office answered the call of the Maury County Fire Department around 6:20 pm. CDT.
Rowland said the investigators did not think a suspect was on the run and that the father "would also be a victim". He did not elaborate further. The investigators were on the scene Tuesday morning and interviewed the surviving members of the family.
He said that the children were home schooled and that there had been no known report of domestic problems at home.
Columbia is about 50 miles south of Nashville.
