A motorcyclist died after crashing on Saturday afternoon on a winding road in an unincorporated area near Mount Helix, according to the California Highway Patrol.
No other vehicle was involved in the 15:40 accident on Sierra Madre Road in Conrad Drive, says the PSC website.
The roads are between the city of La Mesa and the unincorporated community of Casa de Oro, north of the state Route 94.
A CHP officer reported that the runner was seriously injured and the doctors were heading in that direction. They declared the runner dead within 10 minutes, according to the website.
No information about the rider or the cause of the accident was immediately available. The CHP stated that a utility pole had suffered minor damage, but that it was not obvious if the bike was hitting it.
