Mount Markham defeated Clinton today, 20-13, in a major game that decided the fate of the Mustangs for the playoffs.

Everett Kelly of Mount Markham had 86 yards for two touchdowns and Nick Mondore had only one touchdown.

Kelly is seventh in all rushing yards and wearing for Section III with a total of 863 yards and 115 carries. Kelly has been a major asset to the Mustangs all season, leading to total points (66) and rushing yards (863) for the team.

Mondore tops the standings (582) for the team and ranks second for rushing yards (264) and third for total points (36) this season.

Since Mount Markham and Little Falls won and Canastota lost today, all three East C-Class teams finished the regular season with the same record (3-3, 4-2). Given that the next decisive game is the first half point differential, Canastota were eliminated from the playoffs in the quarterfinals because they did not score in the first half of their match against Holland Patent.

Mount Markham scored 14 points in the first half of this game, and Little Falls scored 13 points in the first half of their match against Sandy Creek. Mounthamham will face General Brown in the quarterfinals next week.
