CLEMSON – Every year, Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney feels compelled to book for one task and one task only.

Bryant insisted that he is fine and will play.
Swinney was ready to confirm on Friday that linebacker Joseph Kendall would not play because of an injury to the groin, which makes it reasonable to think that he was hiding something about Bryant, he could have introduced it.
The linebackers of Clemson
Speaking of Joseph, many times, Clemson coaches have dubbed him the "quarterback of defense", and the last thing they want is to get into the match Georgia Tech without him. Even with Georgia Tech star KirVonte Benson's attacking midfielder for a knee injury, the Yellow Jackets' race match is still dangerous. That said, J.D. Davis, Joseph's surrogate on the depth map, gained valuable experience and had a strong fall camp. Davis should be ready to play the role of a senior man well-versed in the Venables system.
Trevor Lawrence
Famous quartermaster Clemson is back in familiar territory. Lawrence is from Cartersville, Georgia, about 45 minutes from Atlanta. If for whatever reason, Bryant is not at any time giving up, Lawrence has proven that he is ready to assume all the roles that Clemson needed.
Penalties
Clemson and Georgia Tech are tied for 30th place in terms of the least penalties, a ranking the two would like a lot more. The Tigers were unruly against Georgia Southern with seven penalties for 65 yards. Georgia Tech earned five penalties for 35 yards in a loss against Pitt last week. On the road in a place that has not been nice to them in the past, Clemson has to avoid the mental mistakes that a vulnerable and desperately needed Georgia Tech team could get into.
