NASA holds a media teleconference on the status of the James Webb Space Telescope

WASHINGTON, June 26, 2018 / PRNewswire-USNewswire / – NASA to Host Media Teleconference 13:00 EDT, Wednesday, June 27, to take stock of the organization's James Webb space telescope and on the findings of an independent external review committee. Webb will be the world's first infrared space observatory and the largest astronomical space telescope ever built.


The audio of the call will be broadcast live on the NASA website.


Participants in the teleconference are:

  • Stephen Jurczyk, Associate Administrator of NASA
  • Thomas Zurbuchen, Associate Administrator, NASA's Scientific Missions Directorate
  • Tom Young, chairman of the independent review board
  • John Mather, Principal Investigator of Webb Project at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center

Webb, a very complex observatory, will solve the mysteries of our solar system, look beyond the distant worlds around other stars and probe the mysterious structures and origins of our universe.
