We are continuing the legacy of these three previous programs and through the joint management of the program by STScI, in collaboration with the Chandra X-ray Center and the Exoplanet Science Institute of NASA.

The NHFP is open to applicants of any nationality who have obtained (or have obtained) a PhD from 1 January 2016 in astronomy, physics or a related field. The duration of the fellowship can be up to three years: an initial appointment of one year and two annual renewals, subject to the performance and availability of funds from NASA.

We plan to offer up to 24 NHFP Scholarships this year. The scholarships are valid at a US host institution of one 's choice, subject to a maximum of two new Fellows per host institution per year and a maximum of five awarded to a single host institution during the course of the year. a period of three years (the cumulative number starts with 2018 fellows).
