NASA believes that a lighter vehicle than the air could carry astronauts safely over the planet – and stay for a month.

The space agency said "a vehicle lighter than air could carry a plethora of instruments and probes, or a vehicle allowing a crew of two astronauts to explore exploring Venus for up to a month.

"Such a mission would require less time than a crewed Mars mission."
