NASA has selected KBR, based in Houston, to study the future of low-Earth-orbit commercial enterprises. KBR is one of 13 companies to receive a contract.

KBRwyle, KBR's government services activity, will analyze how to support the demand for commercial and government use of low Earth orbit and how to make this part of the space affordable.

It will also study the viability of habitable platforms, including the space station and separate free flight structures.
