NASA is preparing to launch a Robotic Refueling Mission 3 (RRM3) using this new technology for the storage and replenishment of cryogenic fuel for aerospace vehicles. RRM3 is attached to the ISS and will be a continuation of the missions of its predecessors – RRM and RRM2.

The ability to replenish cryogenic fuel in space minimizes the amount of fuel that must be collected from the Earth. This will allow you to travel longer and further in the space.
Liquid oxygen is another type of cryogenic liquid used in astronaut survival systems. Effective storage and replenishment to extend the duration of human expeditions will allow colonization of planets.
Scientists are considering the possibility of splitting the moon's water into hydrogen and oxygen, which can be converted into cryogenic fuel. Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere of Mars could also potentially be converted to liquid methane. Thus, RRM3 technology can be used to supply rockets that leave the planet.
However, as useful as the cryogenic fluid, its low boiling point makes it difficult for the storage space as they eventually dry out. The RRM3 is not only capable of carrying these fluids, but also retaining the 42 liters of cryogen for six months without loss, which is enough to ensure the operation of a spacecraft for many years.
