National Ground Beef Recall: Target, Sam's Club may have received contaminated meat; list of products

The retired ground beef, linked to a deadly outbreak of E. Coli, was sold at Sam's Club, Target and several other national retailers, the USDA said.

The recall involves more than 132,000 pounds of beef products produced and packaged by Cargill Meat Solutions, Colorado, and dated June 21. . Items have been shipped to retailers nationwide and the USDA warns that products can be frozen and in consumer freezers.

Sam's clubs nationwide have received some of the beef products used in the recall, as have the Safeway and Meijer stores. Target stores in California, Florida and Iowa also received the recalled meat.

"This list may not include all outlets that have received the recalled product or may include retail outlets that have not received the recalled product," the USDA warned.

The recalled products carry the establishment number "EST. 86R" inside the USDA inspection mark. The recall is classified in category I, which means that there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will result in serious consequences to health or death. "

Anyone whose meat is affected by the recall is advised to discard it or return it to the place of purchase.
