Nuggets would like to meet James
Will Barton and Nikola Jokic – two outstanding players on the Denver Nuggets – would have had their respective paydays yesterday. Now, it seems that the Nuggets do not want to have a hard time in an even bigger fish this summer.
Although Denver does not have a lot of room for Cape Town after these offers, that did not stop them from trying to get a meeting with LeBron James, too, writes Chris Mannix of Yahoo Sports:
The Denver Nuggets aggressively pursue a meeting with free front-star agent LeBron James, a league source told Yahoo Sports, hoping to convince James that Denver's talent is making the Nuggets
Denver has been in contact with James 'agent, Rich Paul, and has stubbornly tried to position the team as James' best option, the source said. Paul George's decision to re-sign with Oklahoma City has kidnapped a potential James teammate in Los Angeles, and up to now the Lakers talks with San Antonio for Kawhi Leonard have not won anything.
The Nuggets were busy Sunday. accepting terms with Nikola Jokic for a $ 147 million five-year contract and Will Barton for a $ 53 million four-year contract. Denver does not have the space required to sign James, but the Nuggets have several expiring contracts that could be transferred to teams who want to clear the ceiling space for the summer of 2019.
