The NBA has a seven game series Friday night that features a very intriguing match. Gordon Hayward makes his first trip to Utah since he left the franchise to sign a four-year contract with the Boston Celtics in the final off season. To make the game even more interesting, Kyrie Irving, the Celtics star goaltender, did not show up for the ceremony while attending his grandfather's funeral. The Celtics are fresh out of a 116-109 overtime win over the Phoenix Suns on Thursday.
In another action, Joel Embiid and Bens Simmons led the Philadelphia 76ers to an overtime win over the Charlotte Hornets in a tilt of the Eastern Conference. Kemba Walker was brilliant with 30 points, nine assists and seven rebounds, but the Sixers' dynamic duo proved to be a little too much for Charlotte.
The night ends with the Minnesota Timberwolves competing against the Sacramento Kings. Jimmy Butler is on the ground for Minnesota after scoring 24 points in 42 minutes against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday. On the kings side, Buddy Hield, the anti-sniper agent, remains an average of 23.6 points per game over the last five games.

Embiid, Simmons has monster nights
Trust the process, indeed. Joel Embiid was unstoppable Friday against the Hornets, scoring 42 points, a high in the season, 18 rebounds and blocking four shots. Ben Simmons was not outdone himself, filling the statistics sheet with 22 points, 13 assists, eight rebounds, three blocks and two interceptions. Simmons also blocked Kemba Walker's 3-point effort towards the end of extra time, which could have matched the mark.
Jazz fans boo Hayward back
Jazz fans apparently did not forgive Hayward for leaving Utah. While the starting lineups had been announced before the start of the Jazz match against the Celtics, Utah fans expressed very clearly their opinion on Hayward's return to Salt Lake for the first time since his signing with Boston last year.

Say what you want about the Wizards, but dude, it was a sacred staging by John Wall.
Fultz nutmegs defender on an attendance at Simmons
Hey, everything that does the job. Markelle Fultz managed one of the best assists of the night by destroying a Hornets defender's muscles as Ben Simmons threw him off.
