The curious case of Markelle Fultz continues to take turns.
On Tuesday, the Philadelphia 76ers goaltender and his agent, Raymond Brothers, decided to make an appointment with a shoulder specialist in New York. They will prevent Fultz from playing until then.
But the right shoulder of the Washington product is apparently not the only physical problem he faces and the goalkeeper is apparently looking to move from the 76th.
Sam Amick, Jared Weiss and Derek Bodner, of Athletics, reported Wednesday, citing sources, that Fultz was suffering from a right wrist injury that "affected his ability to shoot." This injury would have caused problems with the guard's ability to hold the ball while firing. His wrist will be examined with his shoulder at an appointment Monday in New York.
Fultz, who was drafted No. 1 by the 76ers in 2017, has not found his place in Philadelphia and would like to make a fresh start with a new team, according to The Athletic.
The 20-year-old would be affected differently by his injuries depending on the day, making his shot appear and disappear depending on the day, according to The Athletic.
Fultz initially suffered from a scapular imbalance while he was trying to extend his 3-point range before his rookie season. Since then, he tries to rework his shot.
A new start might be ideal for Fultz. His physical problems resulted in a lot of strange moments for the goalkeeper, whether it was a free kick or a free throw at the bat before firing. Fultz's problems seem to be both physical and mental. A clear diagnosis on his shoulder and wrist, as well as a new start could be better for both parties at this stage.
Whether or not the 76ers are ready to part with Fultz remains unknown, but it does not appear that the young guard is returning to the ground any time soon.
