Texas climbed into the top 25 of the United States a 31-16 win on Saturday against TCU, a win that ranks among the best of the program in years.

The Longhorns won 23 spots and finished No. 24 after winning their third straight game after losing to Maryland. Kentucky was also impressive: it eliminated the Mississippi State at home to improve 17 places and rank 17th. TCU was one of three teams to leave the top 25 after losing their second game in a row. Virginia Tech was another program falling after his shocking defeat at Old Dominion.

There was little movement among the top 10, however. Stanford and LSU changed positions, with the Cardinal beating No. 5 after winning at Oregon and the Tigers coming in sixth after a win over Louisiana Tech.

Everything else remained the same: Alabama, Clemson, Georgia and the Ohio State joined Stanford to complete the top five.

But it was a week of big two-way moves for a number of Power Five teams. North Carolina, Purdue, Virginia and Florida were among the major conference teams that climbed to at least 10 places. Virginia Tech, Boston College, Washington State and Kansas State are among those who lost at least 10 places.
