The beef recall concerns possible E. coli contamination, FSIS said in a statement posted on the agency's website.

The recalled meat came from Swift Beef Company, located in Hyrum, Utah. The recalled items were shipped to dispensers for processing and food service distributors for use in locations in California, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington.

The recall is the second in three days for Swift Beef Company. On November 16, FSIS made an initial booster of 523 pounds of beef after a meat sample at a processing facility tested positive for E. coli.

A list of these recalled products is available here. All products were manufactured on November 8, but no cases of disease or adverse effects were reported.

Swift Beef is part of JBS USA, which recalled 6.9 million pounds of meat in an area of 25 states after a salmonella outbreak in early October, reports CBS News. Fifty-nine people were hospitalized, while the Centers for Disease Control report that 246 people became ill due to contamination.

A spokesman for JBS USA told CBS MoneyWatch that "only a sample of the trade has been tested positive and that no consumer has reported any disease, we have taken this cautious approach in the US. interest of consumer safety ".
