Police in several communities in Massachusetts and New Hampshire opened an investigation after discovering sewing needles and metal items in Halloween candies given to spellcasters this week.

A man told police on Friday that he had been manhandled in Salem, New Hampshire near Kelly Road. The man said that he did not know what residence the candies came from.

Salem police urged parents to check on their children's candy.
