Neil Armstrong's personal collection of memories has taken off.
The collectibles that belonged to the first man to set foot on the moon were sold at a recent auction organized by the Dallas-based Heritage Auctions auction house.
The company hosted its "Signature Collection Space Auction" from Thursday to Saturday, which included items from the Armstrong family collection.
According to Heritage Auctions, his spacecraft identification plate from Apollo 11's lunar module, Eagle, had cost $ 468,500, making it the best-selling product.
The company has provided details about the article in an online listing.
"Three of these Lunar Module-5 identification plates were sent to the Moon on Apollo 11 and returned to Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corp.," Heritage Auctions explained. "They then mounted each identification plate on a wall plate and one was presented to each member of the crew."

Armstrong, who died in 2012, was joined in July 1969 by astronauts Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin for the Apollo 11 mission.
An American flag that the astronaut took with him to the moon cost $ 275,000.
Souvenirs belonging to Armstrong that were not part of the famous mission were also presented at the auction.

One of these items – the flying suit that Armstrong was carrying aboard the Gemini 8, the 1966 mission that made the first mooring of two spacecraft in flight – brought in $ 109,375 to the family of the astronaut.
Another camera, Armstrong's 1970C Hasselblad camera dating back to 1970, was sold for $ 25,000 per auction house.
"The total sale has grossed over $ 7.4 million," Eric Bradley, director of public relations for Heritage Auctions, told Fox News. "The only Armstrong items yielded more than $ 5.2 million."
Fans will be able to bid on other Armstrong items at two planned auctions in May and November 2019, the auction house announced in July.
