NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Tuesday morning at 8 am, the NETA gates in Northampton will open to anyone over 21 who wants to buy recreational pot.

Another pottery store in the state opens in Leiscester at the same time on Tuesday morning. These two stores will be the first two recreational marijuana stores to open in eastern Colorado.

The Cannabis Control Commission has created a points system to limit the amount of products you can buy.

Each transaction reserved for use by an adult is limited to one ounce of marijuana per visit and generates a 20% tax on the purchase.

Massachusetts will be the seventh state to allow adults 21 years of age and older to buy pot for recreation.

Voters in Massachusetts decided to legalize marijuana for recreation in 201, but it took longer than expected to determine which stores would sell pot for recreational purposes. Originally, retail sales were scheduled to begin July 1 st.

If you plan to visit NETA, you will need a valid piece of identification proving that you are 21 years of age or older to enter the store.
