In a really wild turn of events, Netflix has canceled Iron fist– the first of many Marvel properties of the broadcast giant to have the ax. The first season of the show, with featured Finn Jones and Jessica Henwick, got some despicable criticism from critics – he had a rating 37 on Metacritic – and even prompted Complex to title his article, "Iron Fist is too rich and white for me to be able to give a Sh / * / t". The answer was so bad that The defenders, following the Netflix Marvel series, made fun of the character's reputation by roasting it in the official trailer of the series.
The series focused on Danny Rand, an orphaned child rescued by warrior monks and trained to fight. In adulthood, he reconnects with his past to take his place in the family business. In a joint statement, Netflix and Marvel announced the cancellation of Iron Fist stating: "Marvel's Iron fist will not be coming back for a third season on Netflix. All members of Marvel Television and Netflix are proud of the series and grateful for the hard work of our incredible actors, teams and showrunners. We are grateful to the fans who watched these two seasons and for the partnership we shared on this series. While the series on Netflix is over, the immortal Iron Fist will continue to live. "
At the beginning of its content creation, Netflix had acquired the reputation of renewing virtually all original series, but since then, it has begun to change course, even if its decisions as to what should be canceled or renewed can sometimes seem overwhelming. Most other Netflix Marvel properties are all lit green for the new seasons at this time.Jessica Jones, Daredevil, The punisher. the Mike Colter featuring Luke Cage, who recently debuted his second season, should also be renewed.
Iron fist could still be resurrected in another way. Disney's streaming platform, due to be released in 2019, will be stocked with Marvel's favorite products; Loki and Scarlet Witch should both have their own shows.
