LAS VEGAS (AP) – Las Vegas Invitation News (local time):

9:10 p.m.

Caleb Martin scored 29 points, Trek's Shawn Thurman added 22 points and eight rebounds and Nevada's No. 6 beat Massachusetts 110-87 in the second Las Vegas Invitational league game on Friday.

Martin, who was named MVP of the tournament, finished 9 times out of 15 and 6 out of 10 in the 3-point range.

Cody Martin had 18 points and seven rebounds for the Wolf Pack (6-0), and Jordan Caroline had 16 points and 10 rebounds. Nevada shot 62% of the field, including 11 of 22 at 3 points.

Luwane Pipkins led the Minutemen (4-2) with 30 points and seven rebounds, while Keon Clergeot added 12 while five Massachusetts players reached double digits.

Massachusetts held the game in the first half as Nevada failed to accumulate a five-point lead in 13 minutes. The Wolf Pack stretched to 56-49 at half-time and built its biggest lead at the end of the match.

The tournament featured separate parentheses and crowned two champions. Michigan State, number 11, beat Texas in the other title.

5:45 p.m.

Joshua Langford scored 29 points, Cassius Winston, 20 points and 10 assists, and 11th place, Michigan State, beat Texas 78-68 in the Las Vegas Invitational championship game on Friday.

Langford was 5 out of 6 from 3 points. Winston, who was named the tournament's most valuable player, also had five rebounds for the Spartans (5-1), who missed the game 25-6 after eight minutes of play.

Kerwin Roach II of Texas, the hero of the seventh edition of North Carolina, number seven, led with 15 points and five assists. Dylan Osetkowski and Matt Coleman III each had 13 points for the Longhorns (5-1).

After this lead in Texas, the Spartans reduced the score to 44-36 at halftime. Michigan State took the lead for the first time in Langford's 3-point standings with 15:26 to go and eventually took the lead on a Winston 3-pointer, 1:19 later.

Michigan State slowly built its lead at 71-59 with 3:32 remaining. The Spartans shot 55% of the field in the second half.

Coby White had 19 points and 8 assists, Luke Maye added 16 points and 8 rebounds, and No. 7 North Carolina beat UCLA No. 17 at the Las Vegas Invitational consolation game on Friday.

Kenny Williams scored 15 points as five Tar Heels doubled their numbers and North Carolina (6-1) decided to separate on his trip to Las Vegas.

Kris Wilkes led UCLA (4-2) with 22 points while he converted 7 out of 10 of the field.

Thanks to 57% of his shots in the second half, North Carolina, who missed the race early, definitely took the advantage over a Nassir Little dunk with 11:58 to go in the match which was 63-62.

UCLA's freshmen, Moses Brown, dropped in at 7:40 am He finished with seven points and four rebounds.

North Carolina are now leading the all-time series with a 9-3 record in a match of 18 teams overall.
