New Hampshire Station Owner Urges State to Remove Legionnaires' Signs

A beach hotel is asking the state to remove the legionnaires' disease signs, now that the water tests have been done.

Tom Saab, owner of Hampton Sands Resort, said on Wednesday "there is no reason" for the state not to remove the signs. He claims that an environmental protection company was hired to clean the station's water and that 43 test results were negative for Legionella bacteria this week.

The State Department of Health and Human Services previously stated that the bacteria had been found at several locations in the resort's water system, including the spa's spa.

It was confirmed that 14 people had contracted legionnaires' disease between July and August, including one deceased person.

A spokesman for the state department did not respond to a request for comment.
