Dr. Declan Murphy, a Melbourne oncologist who was the grape specialist surgeon in the video, tells BBC Three that he filmed the operation on grapes as part of an Australian children's show, for the purpose to "familiarize children with surgical technology". This grape, he says, was called "Grapey McGrapeface".
