New NFL coaches went from 0 to 7 in the first week

The NFL is a cruel enterprise that can hunt a bud before it has a chance to bloom.

The cold was no more evident than in the first week, as each team aiming for a fresh start with a new coaching staff stumbled.

Teams with new head coaches went from 0 to 7 in Week 1, the worst recorded by a group of new coaches in NFL history, by NFL Research. The worst precedent was week 0-6 in 2001.

Of these seven, four of these losses were recorded by more than 10 points, including both Monday night.
