Jets studs and failures in victory | Crowell and others

Here is the AP summary:

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ (AP) – Isaiah Crowell ran for a record-high franchise of 219 yards, including a 77-yard touchdown, and Sam Darnold threw two TD passes to Robby Anderson, including a 76-yard TD, to help the big The New York Jets ended a three-game losing streak with a 34-16 victory over the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

Darnold was also victim of a shot on goal against Terrelle Pryor who sealed the game at the end of the fourth quarter for the Jets (2-3). The rookie quarter finished 10 of 22 yards for 198 yards and three goals with an interception to help New York win its first win since the start of the season.

Crowell needed only 15 runs to break the 210 yard rushing team record set by Thomas Jones in 2009 against Buffalo. New York finished with 323 rushing yards and 512 yards in total.

The Jets' defense also prevailed while she was playing without coordinator Kacy Rodgers, who has what coach Todd Bowles called a "serious" illness. Bowles led the defense against the Broncos and the Jets maintained pressure on Keenum throughout the match, sending him off four times – including two from Leonard Williams.

They nearly had a big game when Marcus Maye intercepted Keenum's last pass and brought it back to 100 yards before being cashed by Courtland Sutton at 1 to end the match.

Keenum finished 35 of 51 for 377 yards with touchdown passes to Sutton and Demaryius Thomas for the Broncos (2-3).

These are big offensive games that propelled the Jets to victory.

They took things in their own hands after a nasty Colby Wadman kickoff early in the second quarter, which replaced injured Marquette King. Crowell took over, slid to the left and zipped into the end zone – getting some good blocks from receivers Anderson, Pryor and Jermaine Kearse en route – for a 77-yard touchdown.

After being fined $ 13,369 by the NFL for his gross TD celebration two weeks ago in Cleveland, Crowell simply threw the ball into the end zone.

The Jets had just started with big games. In their next possession, Darnold found Anderson who found himself in the peloton, discovering the match and scoring a 76-yard touchdown that gave the New York 14-7 advantage with a time remaining at 10:46. This was the longest take of Anderson's career in TD.

According to the Jets, this was the first time since September 24, 1972 that they had several touchdowns with a goal of 75 yards at least in the same game against the Baltimore Colts. Joe Namath pitched 79 and 80 yard TD passes to Rich Caster in that one.

START SLOW

The Jets returned the ball in their second game since the scrum when Adam Gotsis pushed him out of Powell's hands and re-entered New York 20. Three games later, Keenum found Sutton in the goal zone to 8 yards to give Denver a 7 – 0 lead.

This was Keenum's first TD pass since Week 1, when he had won three wins over Seattle, and the first touchdown reception of Sutton's career.

Storm back

Keenum completed Thomas's 31-yard and DaeSean Hamilton's 24-yard passes to place the Broncos on Jets 7, but New York stopped the red zone and blocked Denver on a 30-yard rush by Brandon McManus. -10 with 3:58 to play in the half.

At the next takeover in New York, Darnold scored a perfect setback and snatched a pass perfectly placed in the left corner of the end zone, where he fell into the hands of Anderson, just behind a Bradley Roby for another touchdown.

Myers caught up on 30-yard training by kicking a 49-yard team that gave the Jets a 24-10 lead with 4:52 left in the third quarter. He kicked a 30-yard rider in the fourth game, set up by Andre Roberts' 51-yard punt return.

INTENSIFY

Bowles and the Jets remained silent about the nature of Rodgers' disease.

Rodgers, 49, was scheduled to meet with reporters Thursday for his weekly press conference, but the team said he had a doctor's appointment and that he would be speaking the next day. Friday, Bowles, visibly worried, announced that Rodgers was sick and not at the facility.

INJURY

Jets: CB Buster Skrine was injured in the head in the first quarter and did not return. Skrine started in place of Trumaine Johnson, who was sidelined with a tense quadriceps.

Broncos: BC's Adam Jones was sidelined in the second period after suffering a leg injury.
