New Zealand shaken by magnitude 6.1 earthquake near New Plymouth

According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), a magnitude 6.1 earthquake rocked New Zealand near the city of New Plymouth.

The earthquake was recorded at 3:13 pm local time, at a depth of 227 kilometers.
